Day 12 Prayer Quote from Madame Jeanne Guyon

Reminder to pray for your prayer concern now!

Prayer is the outpouring of the heart in the presence of God: I…have poured out my soul before the Lord,” said the mother of Samuel. The prayer of the wise men at the feet of Christ in the stable of Bethleham was signified by the incense they offered.

Prayer is a certain, [an idisputable], warmth of love that melts, dissolves, and elevates the soul and causes it to ascend unto to God. As the soul is melted, fragrances rise from it. These sweet outpourings come from the consuming fire of love within it.

Day 11 Prayer Quote by Julian of Norwich

Reminder to pray for your prayer concern now!

A quote contributed by Mairie:

Julian of Norwich said “Pray inwardly, even though you find no joy

in it. For it does good, though you feel nothing, see nothing, yes,

even though you think you cannot pray.”

Thanks Mairie!

Day 9: C.S. Lewis Prayer Quote

Reminder to Pray for your relationship prayer request!

Prayer Quote by C.S. Lewis in ‘God in the Dock’ from ‘Scraps’

“Praying for particular things,” said I, “always seems to me like advising God how to run the world. Wouldn’t it be wiser to assume that He knows best?” “On the same principle,” said he, “I suppose you never ask a man next to you to pass the salt, because God knows best whether you ought to have salt or not. And I suppose you never take an umbrella, because God knows best whether you ought to be wet or dry.”  ‘That’s quite different,” I protested. “I don’t see why,” said he. “The odd thing is that He should let us influence the course of events at all. But since He lets us do it in one way I don’t see why He shouldn’t let us do it in the other.”

Day 8: Prayer Quote from Beni Johnson

Quote from Beni Johnson from her book, ‘The Happy Intercessor’

No words necessary…

Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, until He has mercy on us (Psalm 123:2)

Look at the last part of this verse. They were just keeping their eyes on the Lord. Np words were necessary. Just keeping focused on the Lord until…
